Sadly, it's never been just a Nazi thing. The United Kingdom targeted this group, as did the United States, and many, many other countries in this world throughout history.

In human past, if you were anything outside of the societal/cultural view of "normal", you were probably targeted and persecuted.

@V. T. Eric Layton Oh, absolutely. And not just in the past. If you aren't white, cis, and heterosexual today, a large portion of society considers you less than. That's just human nature to divide between us and them, I guess.

Some small gains have been made by folks of color and LGBTQ folks over the last couple decades or so. People, in general, need to more tolerant, accepting, compassionate, and kind. It's something that has to be worked for by humanity because it definitely doesn't seem to be something that comes naturally to the species, unfortunately.
